Have you ever experienced a success that only brought you happiness for a few days or weeks, or didn't provide true fulfillment? Often in our professional lives, we go through phases where, despite achieving external success, something still feels missing. We constantly find ourselves caught in a cycle of comparison and/or endlessly chasing "something"; only to discover after achieving it, we still feel dissatisfied. The definition of so-called "success", which we all buy into, is externally defined and not aligned with our own purpose/values. Then, of course, there are terms like "work-life balance" that further complicate things and leave us confused about what we really want and hope for ourselves.
In my opinion, success means different things to different individuals. Success should be fulfilling and not fleeting, foster clarity and not confusion, and offer alignment along with accolades. One can be ambitious while still being content.
Over the past 6 months, while coaching high-achieving professionals, I have noticed these recurring thought patterns and mindsets. It is only when we delved deeper and reflected that my clients gained clarity about what they truly value. Through my coaching, they were able to recognize the steps they need to take to achieve not just a fulfilling career but also a fulfilling life. Gaining that clarity and alignment is truly transformational.
If this resonates with you, I would love to connect with you and hear your thoughts.
